Each entry is a receipt, and together the receipts make agent work inspectable after the fact.
The principle is that autonomy without records is unaccountable by construction. Humans leave evidence of their work naturally — emails, commits, meeting notes. Agents act at machine speed and volume, so their evidence must be captured systematically or it never exists at all. The audit trail is that capture, built into the infrastructure rather than bolted on.
Receipts complete the AAO triad with governance and presence: governance says what agents may do, presence shows what they are doing, and receipts prove what they did.
